Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch sits on 126 breathtaking acres near Lake Ray Roberts in Denton County, Texas. It was designed, fabricated and built by Scott Edwards of Pilot Point. The Ranch was created, by Scott, as a way to say thank you to the people throughout the years who believed in him and his dream and helped to make it a reality.
The ranch’s original purpose was threefold: to raise funds and create a place for exotic animals, to work closely with charitable and educational groups and to provide the community with a place to learn about and interact with exotic animals.
After acquiring their 501(c)3 non profit status in 2005, Sharkarosa’s next goal is to become independent of its parent companies through sponsorships and grants. Once this is achieved, year round weekly education programs for children and adults will be added to our outreach program lineup, which already includes community service and volunteer programs, summer camps and year round field trips.
Sharkarosa is a work in progress. At any one time it houses roughly 100 animals. Sixty are permanent residents and around 30 short term rescue/foster animals call the Sharkarosa home. Ongoing projects include new habitats, habitat expansions, building expansions and endangered and rare species breeding programs. Sharkarosa is a 501(c)(3) non profit facility, so all donations are tax deductible and go directly back into our programs and projects.
